Contracts Administrator - Civil Works
Rewarding, multi-faceted role with attractive conditions
See your work tangibly benefit the local environment
Progressive organisation in tropical North Queensland
This is an exciting opportunity to utilise your civil construction and contracts administration experience to tangibly benefit the natural environment, while working with a well-established organisation with a strong reputation for successful project delivery and enjoying the lifestyle benefits of tropical North Queensland.
Established in 2002, NQ Dry Tropics (NQDT) is a community-based, not-for-profit company whose mission is to enable and support the dry tropics community of North Queensland to achieve sustainable management of land and water.
Reporting to the NRM Project Manager, and working closely with internal and external stakeholders, in this role you will oversee and coordinate the delivery of NQDT’s civil works projects which include medium to large scale gully remediation and streambank activities across the Burdekin catchment to reduce the impact of sediment on the Great Barrier Reef.
You will be accountable for: developing, negotiating and managing project delivery contracts in collaboration with the NQDT Corporate Services team; project management responsibilities including monitoring, evaluation and reporting of projects against milestones and budgets; supporting future funding proposal development for similar activities by identifying environmental risks, requirements and control measures relevant to the project proposal; and providing professional advice as required.
While your project management and contracts administration experience may not have been gained within the NRM sector, it is likely that you will have had experience with earthwork and/or landscape remediation projects, including planning, delivery, monitoring and reporting, and a proven ability to achieve outcomes within agreed timeframes and budgets. Relevant qualifications and/or vocational/industry training will also be well regarded.
Applicants must currently reside and be permitted to work permanently in Australia and hold a ‘C’ class driver’s license.
Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
