    Established for thirty years and admitted into the Australian Export Awards Hall of Fame in 2009 our Toowoomba based client, Russell Mineral Equipment Pty Ltd (RME), is the acknowledged world leader in grinding Mill Relining Systems. As an original equipment manufacturer, RME’s core competencies include quality design and manufacture as well as global distribution, after-sales service and mill relining services; with the organisation supporting customers on all continents.

    Integral to the ongoing development of RME's technologies suite, the opportunity now exists for a skilled Software Engineer to develop safe, reliable and efficient software solutions as part of the organisation's automation and machine monitoring strategy.

    Reporting directly to the Group Engineering Manager, and in collaboration with the Chief Engineer and other members of the team, in this role you will manage the complete systems development lifecycle utilising best practice process consistent with the IEC61508 International Standard.

    Your success in this challenging and rewarding role will be underpinned by your: detailed understanding of the systems development lifecycle, systems safety engineering and control systems; high level systems analysis, design and programming skills (most likely utilising C++); ability to devise and implement mechatronic theory at a robotic and machine vision level; and effective project management and follow-through skills.

    You will be proactive, driven, focused but flexible and hands-on in your approach. You will work well independently and collaboratively, be generous with your knowledge and interested in developing others and, preferably, display leadership potential.

    Ideally you will bring a balanced portfolio of experience from embedded through to application software, operator interfaces, communication subsystems, safety subsystems and the IT realm.

    It is anticipated that you may hold degree qualifications in both Electrical Engineering and Software Engineering/ Development (or related fields) and also hold, or be eligible to gain within an agreed timeframe, CPEng or RPEQ Certification.
